Pierre Bertrand Big Band

Synopsis

A heavyweight among French composers and arrangers, Paris Jazz Big Band’s founder Pierre Bertrand comes as a guest of the BAJ for one of the highlight events: a concert by a big band composed of French and Argentine musicians, who will perform his arrangements. An eighteen-piece orchestra featuring French musicians from the quintet Caja Negra: Alfio Origlio (piano), Jérôme Regard (bass and double bass), Louis Winsberg (guitar), Córdoba-born Minino Garay (percussion) and Pierre Bertrand (saxes and flute), accompanied by a selection of thirteen of the best local solo artists: Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Mariano Loiácono, Sergio Wagner, Pablo Fenoglio, Joaquín de Francisco, Franco Spindola, Juan Canosa, Ramiro Flores, Gabriel Juncos, Gustavo Musso, Martín Pantyrer and Daniel Piazzolla. The orchestra and project are coordinated by trumpeter and composer Richard Nant, the founder of Argentos and a BAJ festival regular.
