Biography

With original music written in the last two years, guitarist Alejandro Demogli will present the album Luna, which also includes newly arranged standards, such as two pieces by Billy Strayhorn, one of his favorite composers. The album, entirely recorded in New York, featured Rich Siracuse (double bass) and Jeff Siegel (drums), with whom he has played in different cities around the world in the last three years. Recorded with no previous rehearsals or guidelines, the album reflects a gathering of musicians and seeks to keep alive the spirit of musical interaction and improvisation. For this purpose, he also invited pianist Nick Hetko, one of the greatest promises of the New York jazz scene. Demogli’s musical career transcends international borders: he has studied at Berklee in Boston, received the Nec Merit Award and Best Scholarship from the New England Conservatory, and played and recorded with John Scofield, Dan Balmer, John Stowell, Sid Jacobs, Rory Stuart, Ron Anthony, John Lockwood, Richard

Davis, Hilliard Greene, Sizão Machado, Oscar Stagnaro, Bob Moses, Bob Wyatt and Cuca Teixeira, among others. He has so far released five albums. Demogli has been praised by great guitarists such as John Scofield, and hailed as guitar virtuoso by the prestigious American DownBeat Magazine in the February 2008 issue.
