A section that has become a true hallmark of the BAJ.It is practically an internationally unprecedented and unparalleled experience involving local and guest musicians,some very seasoned, others very young. They all come together for the first timewith their own talent, audacity and generosity to share the experience of improvisation with no safety net and with the audience as witness, judge and primary beneficiary of this singular event. These encounters forge new lasting artistic relationships. This year, the section welcomesThelonious Club – a strategic hub for the local jazz scene–which,jointly with the section’sclassic venueCafé Vinilo,will host many livecollaborative performancesfeaturing artists of various nationalities, many of whom will get to meet each other only a few moments before stepping on stage.
