Juan Carlos Copes's biography

The exquisite milonga tradition of local clubs, in addition to his natural genius, led creator Juan Carlos Copes to revolutionize the history of tango-dance. Hehas beenthe one to bring status to this scenic language ever since the 1950s and ‘60s. No dancer of later generations can deny the influence of Copes. The father of tango-ballet, a pioneer in Broadway, a legend of the club Caño 14, Pichuco’s buddy, a key member of the revueTango Argentino and a star of Carlos Saura’s cinema –Copes has an international reputation as a dancer, teacher and choreographer,with a career spanning almost six decades.
