Biography / Synopsis
Piazzolla Electrónico's biography

In the mid-1970s, and in search of fresh inspiration for his music, Piazzolla made a brief foray into rock with the formation of Octeto Electrónico. From there, he tried to gauge a genre that, until then, had very little to do with tango, achieving an interesting amalgam of sound. Today, as specially requested by the Festival, his grandson, drummer Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla, leader of Escalandrum (Piazzolla plays Piazzolla), will recreate such ensemble together with part of his band – expanded for the occasion – to perform a new version of the series Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas, arranged by pianist Nicolás Guerschberg. This material has been recorded in studio and chosen as the music to represent the Galileo Galilei Planetarium before the eyes (and ears) of the world.
