Biography / Synopsis
Sexteto Meridional's biography

This sextet was created last year with a clear aim: to rescue the Pugliesian form of the historic Sexteto Tango, but with modern harmonies. Their first record, Chapado a la antigua, combines a both vigorous and danceable sound. The album features instrumentals of their own such as “Chapado a la antigua” and the waltz “Bailar contigo” with classics like “Saludos” and “Mala junta,” and the songs “Fuimos,” “Lo han visto con otra” and “Por una cabeza.” The sextet is made up of Pablo Estigarribia (piano, direction and arrangements), César Rago and Ramiro Miranda (violins), Marco Antonio Fernández and Nicolás Enrich (bandoneons) and Nicolás Zacarías (double bass), and also features singer Esteban Riera.
