Jean Marie Straub

Biography

Born in 1933 in Metz, he left France and went to Germany to avoid being drafted during the Algerian crisis and became a member of the New German Cinema movement. Some of his films are Not Reconciled (1965), Moses and Aaron (1968), Black Sin (1988) and Antigone (1991), all included in the Focus Bafici ’09 dedicated to him.
