Synopsis

For years, Daniel Burmeister has been carrying out one of the most prolific careers in Argentine cinema. On his dilapidated car and carrying small equipment, he covers thousands of miles from town to town offering them to make a film starred and produced by local people, asking for only food and lodging in return. Titles such as Matemos al tío, Mi amigo el doctor or Terror en la casa abandonada, are part of his filmography and also of the memory of thousands of people living in small interior towns who participated in a unique experience directed by him. The filmmakers document Burmeister’s entire creative process, finding the right tone and perspective to tell a story filled with emotion, setbacks, and funny situations. The scouting for locations, the casting, the camera settings, the editing, and, finally, the screening of the film, all reveal the inside of filmmaking to any neophyte spectator (and show a new kind of Argentine cinema to the experts). But they also build and reveal the life and work of a great unknown, who sums up a rare passion for both film and life.
