Synopsis

In prison, everything is replaceable. One cell is followed by another identical one; silence can get confused with in the deaf sounds of daily activities; people are interchangeable; roles are cyclical. The arrival of new inmate Rune doesn’t change a thing, except for an almost compulsive cleansing. The white, almost gleaming walls try to cover the asphyxiation and dirt that gets washed away with every bucket of soapy water. Purity is false, and its stainless quality is just momentary; the tendency towards corruption becomes clear with the slightest of changes. In every cell, in every pavilion, relationships are similar to the dirt in the wall. After paying off someone else’s dues, and thanks to a Kinder chocolate egg, Rune will find the way to become indispensable. But the circle tends to close, the cycle tends to be completed, and his replacement will be so generic that one single letter will be enough to name it.
