Corneliu Porumboiu

Biography

He was born in 1974 in Vaslui, Romania. He studied Film in Bucharest and was a resident of the Cannes’ Cinéfondation. He directed the short films Gone with the Wine (2002) and A Trip to the City (2003), and the medium length film Liviu’s Dream (2003). His first feature film, 12:08 East of Bucharest (2005; Bafici ’06) won him the Caméra d’Or at Cannes. In 2008 he was a member of the jury in the Argentine Official Selection.
