Synopsis
Del is a young suedehead, a variation of the skinhead subculture (not to be mistaken with the neo-Nazi ones) characterized by having slightly longer hair and a somewhat more elegant style when dressing, but maintaining the trademark boots and the taste for reggae and ska. Working in a job with very few perspectives and with little encouragement from his father, Del devotes his time to his gang –and the minor heists they manage to pull; he also rides his motorcycle and hangs out with Irene, his new girlfriend. However, since Del’s father wants nothing to do with Irene, and Irene’s mother believes Del to be a bad influence, the couple decides to run away. Filmed with non-professional actors –a bunch of cockneys who doesn’t need to act their clumsiness, disillusion, or their bitter family evenings– Bronco Bullfrog is a late kitchen sink drama that captures the spirit of working class youth in the London’s East End and expresses it through a mythical portrait of adolescence.
