Synopsis

Two girls meet after a long time without seeing each other. Clearly, they weren’t very close: one seems relaxed and lazy, the other one conceited and distrustful, and it’s pretty obvious when she’s lying. But from that meeting emerges an escape valve soon to be used by one of them when hounded by a situation we barely know anything about. Both women join in a troubled and at the same time extraordinary journey, and they’re so suspicious of one another that they end up getting distracted from the extraordinary things that appear around them. Rodríguez is a collective, young, and self-managed film, which doesn’t need cultural hidden messages or images of Buenos Aires to communicate a generational kind of humor. The director, actors, and technicians are unknown within the “film world”. The film’s serene course and original resolution both feel like a breath of fresh air blown into that New Argentine Cinema that at times seems too concerned about critical reception.
