Synopsis

The concept of “prison” creates a lot of discussions about its conception, adequacy and utility. The films “about prisons” are also triggers for reflection, but usually the characters are manichaean, ideas are unclear, and the viewer is not led to reassess his own ethics. Three people n the same cell die for different reasons, but all originated by the same cause: the negligence of the penitentiary system. A reverse violent atmosphere is then created: the inmates tear down the facilities as a protest, but they’re taking the prison as a way to draw attention on basic needs and improvements, which are denied; the most extreme violence is generated by police repression outside of the prison, and, when it happens inside, it is motivated by the mistreatment of the system and the guard. Advice on how to survive inside are obsolete after spending a single day in those cells, a day after which everything changes: the roles, the prejudice, the confidence, the morals, the limits of violence, and that ideal and absurd future.
