Numbers of a successful Festival

Concluyó el festival con saldo muy positivo

The twelfth edition of Bafici had sold a total of 200 thousand tickets, which reflects the popular interest that this cultural event, which Buenos Aires has been offering for over a decade, awakens. Taking into account those who attended activities parallel to the cinematographic screenings (open air screenings, concerts, round tables, and book presentations, among others), the total number escalates to 280 thousand people. This represents a growth by 10% in respect to 2009’s edition, not only in tickets, but also in total attendance.

During the Festival’s eleven days, 422 films were exhibited in 21 cinemas scattered in 12 venues (105 short films, 36 medium-length films, and 281 feature films) from 48 different countries, adding up to 1115 showings. Distributed in the different sections of the Festival, 86 Argentine films (44 feature films and 42 short films) were shown, 3 of which participated in the International Competition, while other 13 took part of the Argentine Official Selection (11 as world premieres.)
