Synopsis

If you’re a regular spectator of Bafici and/or other film festivals, go see The Woman in the Septic Tank. If you work in film production and/or direction, don’t miss The Woman in the Septic Tank. If you want to see a ferocious comedy about independent cinema, The Woman in the Septic Tank is the film you should see. So what is The Woman in the Septic Tank? It’s a story focused on three kids (two boys, one girl) who plan a film, think it up, and visualize it (and us with them). This film, they believe, will bring festival invitations for them to travel and win awards. And what’s the film they want to do like? It’s a main dish of, ahem, poverty-exploitation and ludicrous manipulation. They will start making the film by thinking up the script, but also looking for a famous actress who would be willing to surrender herself to their “artistically independent” visions. There’s much more in this vaccine-film with memorable crazy moments, which should be mandatory for film festivals since it’s a festival film, but only because it subverts the film festival order.
