Synopsis
Directors Emiliano Jelicié and Pablo Klappenbach start by looking up the court file that accused author Carlos Correas because of his story “The Narration of History” and made suspects out of those who contributed to the publication of his work or were just part of his personal or intellectual entourage. But that search expands in multiple directions: a dramatization of the story, the voices of Correa’s old collaborators and current fans, the way cinema should be made, the story of a generation, an archaeology of gay life in Buenos Aires, and the bursting intellectual scene that existed fifty years ago. All these storylines draw a complex and exciting map and twist the film around, they corner it, beating down the assurances and topics of traditional documentary filmmaking with a fascinating work that never yields to the temptation of turning its character into a myth –Correas, the great and almost secret writer, the one who wrote Los reportajes de Félix Chaneton and La operación Massota– but rather prefers to cover every aspect of the world. Nothing more. Nothing less.
