Synopsis
Like he did a few years ago in Porno, Homero approaches sexuality from a tangent position. Back then it was empty hours and the off-frame and the shoot of a triple X film. Now, it’s the everyday life of a Spanish speaking dominatrix who lives somewhere in downtown Buenos Aires. The camera hardly ever leaves her apartment which works as both a home and a dungeon –with all the elements of her leather-metal cult– and an anteroom from which she herself coordinates her dates. The phone is essential: through it we get to her contact with clients, her family, absent boyfriend with whom she talks about the details of their upcoming marriage. At times winy and demanding, Nadia’s voice circulates through these worlds. We can hint an off-key eroticism in stories, conversations, and teases where sex is a power game, and the star of the film practices it and suffers from it. A film made of ellipsis and waiting, Sado becomes a portrait for uncertainty, and finds an unexpected comic relief in Nadia’s attempts to open up to a psychologist.
