Synopsis

Thousands of stories pile up between the Earth and the Moon. Gonçalo Tocha finds only some of them in his trip within Corvo Island, the smallest one in the Azores archipelago in West Portugal. Deep inside the Atlantic Ocean it’s easy to lose contact with the modern world, the big cities, and to oscillate between two continents, two different times. Led by curiosity and chance, this film is built on the basis of each of the stories this place has to offer, visually impressive locations, and the intimate bonds that grow between the locals and the tourists. This journal-film is divided into 15 chapters, wondering freely through the intimacy this format allows and the sublime landscapes of Portuguese shores, with a rolling crew narrowed to a minimal (a camera and a soundman) in order to face 500 years of civilization.
