Bio

Born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1943, he’s a film director and historian. He wrote about twenty books, including The History of World Cinema (1975), and worked in many radio and TV shows. He was a curator and director of the Finland Cinematheque. He’s an editor-in-chief of the Filmihullu magazine, a professor in the Helsinki Arts University and artistic director of the Midnight Sun Film Festival which takes place in Sodankylä. Before that he directed Il Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna, Italy, for nine years. Bafici is holding a Focus on his work.
