Synopsis

Silvyo Luccio’s story is one of those that deserve to be told: she was born as a woman, she was a lesbian first, and now she’s a man. In this road movie through the Brazilian North East, Silvyo takes on the trip in search –among other things– of a medical answer to his and his wife’s wish to have a child that would have both their DNAs. On the road, he meets representatives from different minorities, controversial cases, and, all in all, people who feel different, cast aside, marked, like an albino family in the town of Missão Velha who are discriminated because of their color. As he goes deep into the sertão, Silvyo’s own story surfaces, either by empathy or opposition: how he was treated by his family, his attempt to reestablish some bonds, religious prejudices, and the transformation of his body. Olhe pra mim de novo questions not only the modern family notion but also the validity of certain relationships and the formation of the self.
