Preview GANADORES 2012

Today, Saturday, at noon, the winners of the 14th BAFICI were announced. The Best Film award in the International Official Selection went to the Israeli film Policeman (trailer), by Nadav Lapid, who also won Best Director. The award for Best Actress went to Zoé Heran (Tomboy) and Best Actor went to Martín Piroyansky (La araña vampiro). Also, the Special Jury Prize was awarded to Germania, by Maximiliano Schonfeld, and the award for Best Argentine Film was given to La araña vampiro, by Gabriel Medina. In the Argentine Official Selection, winners include Papirosen, by Gastón Solnicki for Best Film and Luis Ortega for Best Director for Dromómanos. In addition, the award for Best Image Treatment went to Igual si llueve, by Fernando Gatti (Director of Photography: Román Cárdenas), and a Special Mention was given to the film La chica del sur, by José Luis García. In the Short Films Official Competition, the winners are El amor cambia, by Ignacio Ceroi; Noelia, by María Alché; and Pude ver un puma, by Eduardo Williams.

In the UNICEF Competition, the award went to A Place of Her Own, by Sigal Emanuel, and the film Kauwboy, by Boudewijn Koole received a mention. In the Human Rights Competition, the winner is Sibila, by Teresa Arredondo. In Cinema of the Future, the award for Best Film went to É na Terra não é na Lua, by Gonçalo Tocha, and Ok, Enough, Goodbye by Rania Attieh and Daniel García received a mention. The rest of the awards went as follows: FEISAL Award to Maximiliano Schonfeld’s Germania and special mentions to Dominga Sotomayor’s De jueves a domingo and Gonzalo Tobal’s Villegas; Argentine Film Critics Association Award to Gonzalo Tobal’s Villegas; ADF Award for Best Director of Photography to Julián Apezteguía for Alejandro Fadel’s Los salvajes; SIGNIS Award to Céline Sciamma’s Tomboy; and FIPRESCI Award to Céline Sciamma’s Tomboy.
