Herrmann Zschoche

Born in 1934 in Dresden, Germany, he studied Filmmaking at the Film Academy of Potsdam-Babelsberg. Between 1960 and 1991 he was the head of the feature film department at DEFA studios, an experience he documented in his 2002 book Seven Freckles and Other Memories. His film On Probation (1982) was awarded at the Berlinale.
