Synopsis
Locaciones is the story of a cinephile obsession, the love writer and filmmaker Alberto Fuguet holds for the film Rumble Fish. And for its characters –do we have to mention Rusty James and The Motorcycle Boy?–, its enigmatic coming-of-age and brotherly story, and its glorious black and white –except for those troublemaking fishes from the title. And especially, for the town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, as revealed by the title of this documentary in the first person –even if there are also many other off-voices, including several locals who are well known in this Festival, together with lots of beautiful music. How was Tulsa when Coppola filmed it, and how it is now that Fuget does it? And what was Fuguet and Chile like back when Rumble Fish premiered, and how are they now? Without looking for definite answers or happy endings, Locaciones apparently just wants to remind us with a luminous simplicity that nobody and nothing –not even cinema, and certainly not love– goes through time without changing.
