Synopsis

Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Fredrik Neij and Peter Sunde. Meet these Swedes who founded the largest file sharing site in the world: The Pirate Bay. Title of album or film + The Pirate Bay in Google: the option of downloading for free. Legally? Well, that’s another discussion. Hollywood says no, and manages to take these three youngsters who met each other through their keyboards, to a Swedish court. The documentary TPB AFK is, on one hand, a courtroom drama, and on the other, the portrait of a generation. And an individual portrayal of these young men who weren’t even friends and tend to answer questions with the rudeness of Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. TPB AFK is also an investigation on the new world we already live in. A fast and fascinating investigation that connects one point to the other, one opinion to the other, and even one continent to the other. And it has the will to explain things to the untrained without slowing up the pace of the exposition, the comedy, or the multiple conflicts. A film that tries to understand a fundamental part of the global world, both the one away from the keyboard the one you create by pounding keys, which is also real. JPF
