He was born in Raleigh, USA, in 1975. He studied Journalism at the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala and Filmmaking at the CCC in Mexico. He directed several short films, including Km 31 (2003) and Maleza (2008), and the feature-length films Gasolina (2008; awarded in Bafici ‘09) and Marimbas From Hell (Bafici ‘11).
