Giovanni Maderna

Bio

He was born in Milan, Italy, in 1973. He quitted his Literature studies and moved to Lyon, where in 1995 he directed the short film La Place, winner of the Nanni Moretti Festival. He later directed This Is the Garden (1999), Imperfect Love (2001), Schopenhauer (2006; Bafici ‘07), Heaven Without Earth (2010; with Sara Pozzoli) and Carmela, Saved by the Buccaneers (2012; with Mauro Santini), in competition in this edition of the Festival. He’s also a film professor and founder of the Quarto Film production company.
