Darío Lopérfido was born in Buenos Aires in 1964.
He is currently Artistic Director of FIBA. He was previously Cultural Consultant of YPF Foundation.
He was Consultant of PRISA group in Madrid from 2002 to 2008, Secretary of Culture and Communication of Argentina (with the rank of Minister) from 1999 to 2001, Secretary of Culture of the Buenos Aires City Government from 1997 to 1999, Artistic Director of FIBA in 1997 and 1999, and Sub-Secretary of Cultural Action of the Buenos Aires City Government in 1996.
He was also the director of the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas from 1992 to 1999 (an institution under the authority of UBA, University of Buenos Aires), and the secretary of cultural affairs of UBA. He also worked as a cultural journalist from 1985 to 1989 for the magazine Teatro and for the radio stations FM Rock&Pop and la Red.
Jointly with Alejandro Félix Capato he wrote Derechos Culturales en el Mercosur (Cultural Rights in the Mercosur), published by Ediciones del Candil, and Legislación Cultural en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Cultural Legislation in the City of Buenos Aires).
