Synopsis

How can you take the elements that make cinema possible and intervene them as much as you can? And also, why doing it? These seem to be the starting points for Marcos Nine Búa’s project, in which a work team suggests multiple techniques and ways to elaborate film material. As part of an experiment, but also a programmed work and a specific search, pieces of celluloid are treated in different ways: knocks, paint, cuts, or heat; these are just some of the ways they have to appropriate every portion of film. But this work is not just about changing the material on a whim, but also about a search for a path, a personal view of the world. Each one of those fragments, those renovated slides, will form a whole that isn’t afraid of run away from classic narrative and dares to try new forms and procedures. It’s a whole that experiments and expands the limits of filmmaking.
