LUCIANO RUGGIERI

He studied drums with Omar Pogonza and Leopoldo “Polo” Benítez in his native Rosario. Once in Buenos Aires he went on studying with Oscar Giunta, Pepi Taveira, Sergio Verdinelli and Eloy Michelini, and honed his skills with Jeff Hamilton and Adam Nussbaum. He also studied jazz and harmony with distinguished pianist Juan Carlos Silvera.
He has recorded and/or performed with numerous artists in Rosario and Buenos Aires, including Carlos Lastra, Ernesto Jodos, Mariano Otero, Enrique Norris, Pepi Taveira Cuarteto, Rodrigo Domínguez, Natalio Sued and Juan Cruz de Urquiza. He is currently a member of the Francisco Salgado Cuarteto, the Juan Manuel Bayón Sexteto and the Juan Carlos Silvera Trío, among other ensembles.
