Biography

The quartet La Mujer Barbuda was formed seven years ago. It aims to bring together sound and image. The band’s compositions are inspired by old cartoons of Betty Boop or the early Disney; also by the work of visual artists, writers and filmmakers such as Jackson Pollock, Francis Bacon, William Burroughs, the Quay Brothers and David Lynch. The band is led by Franco Fontanarrosa (electric bass and composition) and completed by Sergio Álvarez (electric guitar), Martín Pantyrer (baritone and soprano sax and bass clarinet) and Lulo Isod (drums).
