Jorge López Ruiz

Biography

Double bassist, composer and director Jorge López Ruiz wrote the music for over sixty films and forty-six plays. He has played with Jim Hall, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Buddy de Franco, Nat “King” Cole, Larry Coryell and João Gilberto, among others. He has released several albums in Europe, Japan and the United States, and co-funded the label Trova. He has served as Astor Piazzolla’s producer in New York and produced other artists such as Sandro, Piero and Leonardo Favio. He has directed EMI-ODEON Argentina and the Electronic Music Lab at the UCES. In 2012, he released a trilingual edition of his concert Bronca Buenos Aires.
