Biography

The Porteña Jazz Band started out in the 1960s revisiting the tradition of swing and bop. It has played all over Latin America, going on their first European tour in 1975. It has recorded several vinyl and CD albums in Argentina, the Netherlands and France, and music for commercials. Its members are Ricardo Alem, Omar Oliveros, Roberto Vitale (trumpets); Hugo García Sampedro (trombone); Carlos Caiati, Gabriel Sabella Rosa, Gabriel Herrera (saxes and clarinets); Adrián de Felippo (double bass); Norberto Méndez (drums); Adrián Segers (guitar) and Nicolás Mastrocola (piano).
