UNA BUENA JORNADA DE “PANORAMA”

This Friday at the Meeting Point’s stage, there will be a double program of concerts inside the “Panorama” section, with presentations of the singers María Jose Mentana -accompanied by Quinteto Viceversa- at 5 PM and Marisa Vázquez -with her band led by the guitarist Ramón Maschio- at 7 PM. They are two of the best female singers in contemporary Argentine tango, with long and fruitful careers, technical skills and stage charm.

Maria Jose Mentana, widely known by the audience as María José, started her career in 1970 with only 9 years old. From then on, she shared stages with big names such as: Roberto “Polaco” Goyeneche, Rufino, Nelly Omar, Osvaldo Pugliese, Floreal Ruiz, Edmundo Rivero, Alberto Marino, Osvaldo Piro, Tita Merello, Néstor Marconi, Sexteto Mayor, Atilio Stampone, Horacio Ferrer, Leopoldo Federico and Raul Garello, among many others. With such a long career, she is one of the most renowned artists of her generation. Marisa Vázquez, for her part, is considered one of the best current voices in tango. She debuted in 1998 with the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina Juan de Dios Filiberto, directed by Osvaldo Piro and Oscar De Elia. She shared stages with celebrities like Alberto Rufino, Argentino Ledesma, Alberto Podestá, María Graña, Ricardo “Chiqui” Pereyra and Jairo, among others.
