MUSIC, MAESTROS, PLEASE!

MÚSICA, MAESTROS

Today, Sunday, last day of concerts at the Centro de Exposiciones, the festival offers an exceptional schedule of events. At 8 p.m., at the Horacio Salgán stage, the quintet of grand maestro Atilio Stampone together with singer Luis Filipelli will give a concert of great tango classics. Later, at 9 p.m., the young Orquesta Típica El Porvenir (photo) will close the evening, hitting the final chan-chan chords. An exceptional double bill that reaffirms one of the central concepts of Tango Buenos Aires: tango in all its different expressions and generations, as a bridge of cultural identity.

The performance by Stampone is one of the highlights of the program of events that Tango Buenos Aires offers to the public: 85-year old Atilio is a real maestro, boasting an impressive career in which his collaborations with none other than Piazzolla stand out. In the case of the Orquesta Típica El Porvenir, this is a bet on the future of tango: composed of young performers trained in Children Orchestras from priority action areas, as part of a program created by the Ministry of Education of the City, this orchestra represents an opportunity for social integration and musical education, which will bequeath us with new talented musicians for the next decades.
