A total of 370 thousand people attended the 15th edition of the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), one of the most prestigious cultural events in Latin America. And the figures confirm it. For 12 days, the City of Buenos Aires celebrated the world’s best independent film with a total of 473 films (165 shorts, 36 medium-length films and 272 feature films), showcased at 1004 commercial screenings and 77 press screenings, with 85% of tickets sold.

The English film Berberian Sound Studio, by Peter Strickland, was voted Best Film of the International Official Selection, and Santiago Loza’s La paz won such category in the Argentine Official Selectionm, as was announced today, Saturday, at noon at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, together with the rest of the awards of the 15th edition of the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI).
