The documentary The Lebanese Rocket Society tells the story of a research group that, in the 1960s, launched the first rocket from the Arab world to space. Through an exhaustive investigation that includes valuable archive material, the directors tell this little-known story of a country that was the region’s pioneer in this field (and many others) but unfortunately became hostage to a never-ending war that destroyed any chance of progress. There are tickets available for the screenings on Wednesday 11 at 6.40 p.m. at Village Caballito, Thursday 12 at 7 p.m. and Friday 13 at 1.35 p.m. at Arteplex Belgrano. Tickets can be purchased on this website or in person at Casa de la Cultura (Av. de Mayo 575, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and at the Village Recoleta movie complex (Vicente López and Junín, 4th floor, every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
