Jue' MAndinga!'s biography

Jue' MAndinga!

Though the members of Jue’ MAndinga! are devoted to exploring new sounds, it is possible to find within their repertoire of original arrangements the traditional spirit of the first orchestras of Latin jazz. They came together in 2004 with a repertoire based on jazz and funk standards and classics of the Afro-Cuban and Afro-Peruvian genres. Jue’Mandinga! went on shaping their own style, with arrangements by Francisco Huici for a ten-musician line-up and the collaboration of guest artists Hubert Reyes on percussion, Fabián “Tropi” Veglio on trumpet, Ramiro Flores and Alejo Von Der Phalen on saxs and Alejandro López on drums.
In 2005 and already with their line-up of thirteen musicians, the ensemble began to appear weekly in different jazz and salsa clubs, adapting the repertoire for each occasion. They are currently pre-producing their second album, the first one having been released in 2007.
