Carlos Lastra

Carlos Lastra graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1985. Back in Argentina, he took part in countless ensembles and cultural projects. He has performed with many great artists, including Dave Kikosky, Jorge López Ruiz, el Negro González, Jim Kelly, Jim Odgren, Hernán Merlo, Erling Kroner, Quintino Cinalli, Mono Fontana, Ernesto Jodos, Hugo Fatoruso, Pedro Aznar, Lito Epumer, Osvaldo Fatoruso, Pepi Taveira, Enrique Norris and Daniel Lastra. As a front man he recorded Siete Matices de Gris in 2004 and is about to release his trio album, Ciudad de los Invisibles.
As a teacher, he was once on the faculty of the Escuela de Música Contemporánea and the Escuela de Educación Musical, and was the director of the Popular Music degree at the Escuela Superior de Arte in the city of Bariloche. He currently teaches at the Conservatorio Municipal Manuel de Falla and coordinates his own school of jazz ensembles.
