JUAN CANOSA

This trombonist, born in 1984 in Olavarría, in the province of Buenos Aires, began his studies in the neighbouring city of Azul. In 2000 he settled in the United States, where he played in different ensembles, including those of his school. Along with HML Jazz Band, he won the National Jazz Orchestra Contest in Atlanta, Georgia. He honed his skills with Eloys George III. In 2002, back in Argentina, he took lessons with Hugo Gervini and studied harmony with Valentín Reiners. He went on to study with Enrique Norris and Remigio Pereira Pintos and became a member of the Orquesta Juvenil del Mercosur. In 2005 he travelled to Los Angeles to study with Bob McChesney. At present he performs in various ensembles, including Mariano Otero Orquesta, Jue’Mandinga!, Flores, Américo Belloto Septeto and Miguel Tarzia’s band, and he also performs in the orchestras of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. He is currently studying harmony with Juan Cruz de Urquiza.
