Federico Lechner Trío & Franco Luciani

The Rosario harmonicist Franco Luciani and the Buenos Aires pianist and composer Federico Lechner met in Spain at the 2008 Zaragoza Expo. Federico Lechner was born in 1974; he is Argentine but has been living in Spain for twenty five years. He frequently collaborates with Jerry González, Christian Howes, Sonny Fortune, Ugonna Okegwo, Marc Mommaas and Rez Abbasi, among others. With these artists he has recorded and toured the United States, Europe and South America and has performed in stages such as New York’s Rockefeller Center. He works on the mixture of genres with a tango and jazz trio he created a while ago now.

Franco Luciani was born in 1981. His harmonica goes through a wide stylistic spectrum, from folklore to tango with fusion elements. He has performed in America and Europe and has recorded five albums.
Lechner, together with his quartet and Luciani, recorded Falsos límites, an album in which tango, jazz and folklore get mixed. The idea of the album came up during the sessions carried out at the Café Central in Madrid, on September 2009. The album includes versions of folklore and tango classics –“Zamba de Lozano” and “Los mareados”, for example– and also original pieces written by Luciani as well as Lechner.

Musicians: Guillermo Delgado (Double bass) and Javier Martinez (Drums)
