A LAVISH CLOSING NIGHT

UN CIERRE DE LUJO

When this Wednesday at 9 PM the pianist Enrico Pieranunzi presents with his quintet the work “Fellini Jazz” – his interpretation of the most famous pieces in the filmography of his compatriot Federico, great filmmaker -- Buenos Aires Jazz.10 will put an end with an exquisite musical closure. Tickets for this first-class show, at prices ranging from 20 to 50 pesos, will be on sale at the web page www.festivales.gov.ar or can be purchased personally at Casa de la Cultura (Av. de Mayo 575) from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Around the compositions that mostly belong to Nino Rota and also to the music of the Argentine Luis Bacalov, Pieranunzi built a musical landscape matching the visual-narrative surrealism of Fellini’s work. The European specialized critics welcomed the album that nurtures this show and highlighted the empathy between Pieanunzi’s technical formation—based on his country’s jazz tradition – and the music created by Rota. “This is a sensational album, fitting Fellini’s and Rota’s work, and also the group of musicians that recorded it”, wrote the critic Mark Corroto in the web page www.allaboutjazz.com.
