Biography

The Ambush Party explores free improvisation. While improvising, they interweave in complex counterpoint, backed only by their own experience of playing together as a group, thanks to a long and intense career. The musical result is, of course, the instant and unexpected composition in which the group finds a delicate balance. The musicians themselves define their creation method with the image of “a dinner in the kitchen enjoying the preparation, the taste of the ingredients and the final culinary result.” The menu blends serene melodies by tenor saxophonist Natalio Sued, the imagination by violoncellist Harald Austbo, the strategic playing by Oscar Jan Hoogland and the unpredictable inventiveness by percussionist Marcos Baggiani.
