Sophie Lüssi String Quartet 's biography | Argentina
Biography
This classical string quartet plays and improvises within the language of jazz. Some of their pieces are reminiscent of bebop, and others are inspired by cool jazz; some have an impressionistic sound, and others may have the hallmarks of contemporary funk or bossa nova. All compositions and arrangements, straddling the line between jazz and contemporary classical music, are by Sophie Lüssi. The quartet is made up of composer Sophie Lüssi and Leonardo Ferreyra (violins), Mariano Malamud (viola) and Julián Arellano (violoncello).
