Synopsis
Liza’s father made his debut as a filmmaker with the adaptation of a Broadway musical, starring an all-black
cast and based on legends of the African-American culture. Amid gambling debts, acrobatic dancing and
pacts with the devil, the film features Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington with its orchestra in supporting
roles, and singer Lena Horne (the woman who looked white) as none other than the sweet Georgia Brown.
