María José Mentana con Quinteto Viceversa's biography

She started her career in 1970, when she was only 9 years old. She shared stages with great figures of tango, such as Polaco Goyeneche, Roberto Rufino, Nelly Omar, Osvaldo Pugliese and Edmundo Rivero. María José toured Europe along with the orchestras of Osvaldo Piro and Sexteto Mayor; and released four records in Japan. Also, she was part of the company Tango x2 as a special guest. She has stood out in hosting a radio and TV show in Venezuela, and she has lived in Paris; restless and creative, she carried out several projects, but she never gave up her passion for tango. María José could fulfill her dream of singing tangos with a symphony orchestra in the Teatro Teresa Carreño, Caracas with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela. She usually performs with Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, and she is invited frequently by the Orquesta Nacional de Música Argentina Juan de Dios Filiberto. María José Mentana has a voice with an intense range of nuance, and her interpretative strength places her as one of the most renowned singers of her generation.
