Luciano Supervielle's biography

Luciano Supervielle

Only 33 years old, the pianist, arranger and composer Luciano Supervielle is one of the liveliest Uruguayan musicians. In the 1990’s he was DJ of the Montevideo hip-hop band Plátano Macho, together with Gabriel Casacuberta. Already started the decade of 2001, after returning of some years of residence in France, he became one of the main members of the band led by Gustavo Santaolalla, Bajofondo. His first record, Supervielle, showed the most personal side of his artistic concerns: a mix of tango, electronic music and hip hop, in which he dared to remix Victor Hugo Morales’ soccer game talk. He also worked with Jorge Drexler as arranger and keyboardist. For the Festival he presents the premiere of the show Acoustic with songs that will be part of his second disc, where he sets electronics apart to experiment with elements of pop, folk and classical music. He will perform together with the violinist Javier Casalla, the concertina player Martin Ferrés, the bassist Gabriel Casacuberta, the guitarist Gustavo Antuña and the drummer Martin Ibarburu. Guests: Franny Glasse and the singer Barbara Palacios.
