Proyecto AA - Orquesta Aurora

The long history of tango in Japan has 85 years. The founding moment was when the baron Tsunayoshi Megata took a series of tango orchestra albums from Paris to Tokyo, initiating a musical tradition that never ceased and that is strongly spreading in the present. The Aurora Orchestra is one of Japan’s most active groups and arrives for the second time to present their album Puerto a Puerto. This album combines traditional tangos of different times and authors with works bearing the signature of the Japanese musicians. The instrumental part of the orchestra is formed by six young performers who studied tango in Japan and also have unraveled their codes and abilities in Argentina, standing out in the band of the bandoneón player Ryota Komatsu and even playing with Argentine tango artists such as Nestor Marconi, Victor Lavallén and José Libertella. They are: Naoko Aoki (piano), Momoko Aida and Atsushi Yoshida (violins), Satoshi Kitamura and Takatoki Suzuki (concertina) and Kenji Azumaya (double bass).
