Julián Vat - Ariel Argañaraz's biography
Ariel Argañaraz is the youngest graduate form Avellaneda Popular Musical School. When finishing his career, he was part of several groups together with teachers of the aforementioned school such as Carlos Rivero and César Franov. He played with tango and folklore singers such as Lidia Borda, Alfredo Piro, Ariel Ardit, Javier “Cardenal” Domínguez, Cristóbal Repetto and Noelia Moncada.
Flautist, saxophonist, composer and musical director Julián Vat has a devastating curriculum: he was musical director of Juan Carlos Copes shows and Compañía Tango x2, he also worked with Joan Manuel Serrat, Mercedes Sosa, Eladia Blázquez and Adriana Varela. He composed or directed scene music for Norma Aleandro, Enrique Pinti, Eleonora Cassano, Ana María Stekelman and Julio Bocca. Since 2001, hired by Astor Piazolla Foundation, he took part of the Astor Piazolla New Quintet and in 2003 he directed and recorded the opera María de Buenos Aires.
Together now and with this background, Vaz and Argañaraz perform tango duets with guitar and flute.
