Walter Larroquet's biography

From different aesthetics and stylistic approaches, an amazing number of singers strengthened the tango scene lately. It is a phenomenon that updated the rich tradition of voices. Walter Larroquet, singer from Mar del Plata and fan of Nelly Omar, focuses his repertory on the native song. Larroquet is 39 years old and he was involved with tango since he was a little boy. Among his identity marks, he was finalist of the Bragado State Contest, finalist of Enrique Santos Discépolo Unknown Tangos State Contest carried out in Mar del Plata Auditorium Theatre and he participated in Orchestral Group Contest at Palacio Barolo. He gave several concerts, but the Festival will be the chance to play for a massive audience which does not know him yet. Apart from native songs, his repertory also includes present tangos and lost plays such as the unknown play : “Ya ni te acuerdas” (from Buenaventura Luna and Fernando Portal). He will be accompanied by a guitar quintet.
