Dúo Fuertes - Varnerín's biography
The duet of criollo singers is a tradition of the porteña culture consolidated by Gardel and Razzano, continued by Agustín Magaldi and Pedro Noda in the 20´s and enhanced by Carlos Dante and Julio Martel with the Alfredo De Angelis orchestra in the 40´s. Today, with a perfect harmony between the two voices, Agustín Fuertes and Ariel Varnerín are the heirs of the criollo duets, interpreting mainly waltzes and milongas as well as tangos. The tango “Pregonera”, the milonga “Cien guitarras” and the waltz “El viejo vals” are pieces that stand out in their repertoire. With a released album in 2007, the duet has been performing in the main milongas and tango houses of Buenos Aires.
